Law enforcement report
¢ From 5 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday, Lawrence police conducted a saturation patrol resulting in the following reportable incidents: 55 citations for speeding, 30 citations for hazardous moving violations, 63 citations for noncompliance with seat belt regulations, four citations for noncompliance with child restraint laws, one arrest for driving under the influence, two arrests for outstanding warrants, one citation/arrest for possession of drugs, and one citation/arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Injury accidents
¢ A 41-year-old Lawrence woman was transported to Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center Tuesday following an automobile accident in Wabaunsee County. Joan L. Dillingham was driving a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am westbound on I-70 when the vehicle was cut off by another vehicle, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report. Dillingham swerved to miss the other vehicle and lost control, went across the median and stopped on the shoulder of eastbound traffic, the report said. Dillingham was wearing a seat belt. She was treated and released from the hospital.
¢ A Pomona man, Forrest Cook, who was injured in a Sunday morning accident in northwestern Franklin County has been released from Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s office said Cook’s wife, Lucinda, 46, was killed in the accident on Thomas Road, about nine miles west of U.S. Highway 59. The accident is still under investigation.
¢ In another weekend wreck, Kansas University Hospital officials said that due to the hospital’s patient privacy policy, condition updates were unavailable Tuesday on David Watts, 40, of Bonner Springs, and Michelle Branda, 41, Kansas City, Kan., who were both thrown from a motorcycle that left the road Sunday evening on U.S. Highway 24-40 east of Lawrence Municipal Airport.
Burglaries and thefts reported
¢ A 47-year-old Lawrence man on Sunday reported more than $5,700 in stolen property and criminal damage. The incident occurred between 9 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. Sunday in the 700 block of North Fifth Street.
¢ A 44-year-old Lawrence resident reported $2,200 in criminal damage to two vehicles, a 2006 Mercury and 1985 Chevrolet. The incident occurred between noon Saturday and 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the 2800 block of Belle Haven Drive.
¢ Hillcrest Laundromat, 925 Iowa, reported about $1,700 in criminal damage and theft, which occurred between 3:15 p.m. and 3:37 p.m. Sunday.
¢ A 21-year-old Lawrence woman reported the theft of a white and black “Buddy” mo-ped valued at $2,000. The incident occurred between 11:40 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of New Hampshire Street.
