Ex-Jayhawk Hartwig let go by Panthers

Former Kansas University offensive lineman Justin Hartwig has been released by the Carolina Panthers.

He had signed with the Panthers as a free agent in 2006 after spending three seasons with the Tennessee Titans

The 6-foot-4, 312-pound Hartwig suffered a groin injury in the 2006 regular-season opener that limited him to just one game. He started the first 15 games in 2007 before suffering a season-ending knee injury.
