A pickup truck stolen more than a week ago was recovered Tuesday morning along the Kansas River at the north edge of Lawrence.

John Hey, of rural Baldwin City, said that the Ford F-150, diesel four-wheel drive truck belonged to him. Hey was called to the scene by Douglas County sheriff’s officers.

The truck was found in a wooded area along the river levee and appeared to have sustained damage. It was discovered and reported by a passerby, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said. Sheriff’s officers are continuing to investigate.
