Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence police arrested a Lawrence man who is the suspect in a burglary and theft that occurred about 4:34 a.m. Thursday at Fast Lane, 1414 W. Sixth St. The front glass door had been smashed and several items were taken from inside, including lottery tickets and food items.

¢ Lawrence police responded to the Westminster Inn, 2525 W. Sixth St., at 4:03 a.m. Thursday regarding a possible fight. A male victim reported he was on duty at the motel and responded to noise complaints from residents, according to a police report. When he asked the three male occupants in one room to quiet down, one of the occupants allegedly punched him in the face. When police arrived, the three men attempted to flee on foot. One of the suspects, later identified as the person who punched the hotel employee, was a 15-year-old boy. Police are searching for the other two men.

¢ Police responded to a residence in the 1600 block of Haskell Avenue at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a possible domestic battery. A 33-year-old Lawrence woman and a 32-year-old Lawrence woman reported a verbal altercation had become physical. Both were transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for treatment of lacerations. Both were booked into Douglas County Jail on charges of aggravated battery. A two-year-old child was removed from the home during the investigation and subsequently released to a family member. The Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services had been notified, according to police. Alcohol is being investigated as a contributing factor.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 45-year-old Lawrence man reported $1,818.52 was stolen June 11 in a computer crime that occurred in Manhattan.
