Injury accidents

¢ A Baldwin City man was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Sunday following a multiple-vehicle accident on U.S. 59.

Jeffrey T. Smith, 45, Baldwin City, was stopped on U.S. 59 about eight miles south of Lawrence to make a left turn, and a second vehicle driven by Michael L. Cobb, 39, Baldwin City, was stopped behind Smith’s vehicle when the accident occurred, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report. A third vehicle, driven by John M. Teichmann, 40, Lawrence, struck the back of Cobb’s vehicle and pushed it into the first vehicle, the report said.

Cobb was transported to the hospital where he was treated and released. There were no other injuries that required emergency transport, the report said. The incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m.
