HIV researcher given $150K fellowship

Navneet Dhillon, a Kansas University Medical Center researcher, is among the latest recipients of a three-year, $150,000 fellowship for HIV research.

Dhillon is the first person in the Kansas City area to get the award, given by the Francis Family Foundation of Kansas City. The foundation has given out the awards annually since 1976.

Dhillon’s research focuses on how treatment of lungs with nanoparticles could keep HIV patients from developing pneumonia or tuberculosis.
