VNA hospice request on county agenda
The Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association wants county commissioners to donate land it owns for a new hospice center.
County commissioners will meet with VNA representatives this morning to discuss the request. VNA is seeking county property behind the United Way offices at 2518 Ridge Court.
VNA hopes to begin a campaign fund early this year to raise funds for a building, according to a letter to commissioners from Judith Bellome, VNA chief executive.
Commissioners also will:
¢ Consider approval of a revised southern development plan.
¢ Consider a request from John Solbach to extend East 350 Road right-of-way in Kanwaka Township.
¢ Consider approval of a resolution amending a planning and zoning classification from agriculture to suburban home district for Livengood Estates subdivision. The rezoning was initially approved by commissioners in September 2006, subject to the subdivision meeting certain conditions. Those have been met.
¢ Discuss a list of legislative priorities.
Commissioners meet at 8:30 a.m. on the second floor of the courthouse, 1100 Mass.
