Law enforcement report

¢ A 25-year-old Liberty, Mo., resident was sprayed with Mace on Jayhawk Boulevard on Kansas University’s campus, KU Public Safety Assistant Chief Chris Keary said. The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. Friday. The 25-year-old man was in a group of men walking on the boulevard when he attempted to make a high-five with a stranger and was sprayed with Mace, Keary said. The stranger, a 29-year-old Lawrence man, then fled on foot and was later located and issued a notice to appear in court for battery, Keary said.

¢ Kansas Highway Patrol and Lawrence Police responded to a fight at It’s Brothers Bar and Grill, 1105 Mass., about 1:30 a.m. Friday. The victim, a 22-year-old Wichita man said he was hit in the face by another man, and he identified the suspect, according to a police report. The suspect, a Lawrence man, resisted officers while they were preparing to transport him to jail, the report said.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 50-year-old Lawrence resident reported $1,500 in damage to the plexiglas Presta sign at Presta Phillips 66, 602 W. Ninth St. The incident occurred between noon and 5 p.m. Wednesday.

¢ More than $3,400 in items, including designer handbags, sunglasses, wallets, cell phones, and gift cards were reported stolen from a vehicle in Riverfront Plaza during the night of New Year’s Eve. The incident occurred between 10:30 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. The victims were a 55-year-old man from Mission and six teenagers from towns in Kansas, Missouri and Louisiana.
