Topeka woman reports kidnapping

Suspects forced her to drive to Kansas City, left her in Lawrence

Police are on the lookout for two kidnappers today after a woman reported being forced at gunpoint to drive them to the Kansas City area.

The crime is being investigated as a kidnapping and robbery.

A 21-year-old woman reported she was in the parking lot of a Topeka Dillons, 5720 SW 21st, about 3 p.m. Thursday when two men approached her, indicated they had a gun and forced her to get back in the car, according to a Topeka Police Department press release.

The men forced the woman to drive them to various locations in Kansas City and then to 23rd and Harper streets in Lawrence, where the suspects got out. That’s when she notified Lawrence police. She later called Topeka police.

The woman was not injured.

The suspects are described as two black men, both in their mid-20s. One male is described as being 6-foot-4 and weighing around 170 pounds. He had short hair and was unshaven. He had a tattoo on his neck. The second man is described as being about 6-foot and weighing 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans a white sweat jacket with a design on it. He had braided dreadlocks.
