Law enforcement report

¢ The Kansas Highway Patrol identified 34-year-old Monicie N. Ramirez, 34, of Lawrence, as the person injured in a wreck during a police pursuit early Tuesday morning in Wichita.

According to a highway patrol accident report, Ramirez was driving a 1991 Ford Explorer south on Interstate 235 when she attempted to exit at West Central Avenue.

While driving at a high rate of speed and actively involved in a police pursuit, she lost control of the sport-utility vehicle. It went through a fence before it stopped.

Ramirez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was possibly injured and taken to St. Francis Via Christi Hospital in Wichita, according to the accident report. Additional information about her condition and the police pursuit was not available Tuesday.
