Lawrence police were asking for help Tuesday in finding a suspect or suspects in two liquor store robberies Monday night.

In each case, the suspect was said to have displayed a handgun and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a Lawrence police statement.

The first robbery was reported at 7:50 p.m. at Hird Retail Liquor, 601 Kasold Drive. The suspect was described as a black man wearing a tan ballcap, a dark heavy jacket and dark pants. The second robbery was reported to police at 8:48 p.m. at Glass House Liquor, 2301 Wakarusa Drive, Suite C. The suspect was described as a black man with a thin build, 6-foot-1 to 6-2, wearing a black coat and dark pants.
