Law enforcement report

¢ Kansas University Public Safety arrested an 18-year-old KU student Sunday in connection with an aggravated assault in a residence hall parking lot.

A 20-year-old Johnson County Community College student and her friends were getting out of a vehicle in a McCollum Hall parking lot around 2 a.m. Sunday when the incident occurred, KU Public Safety Assistant Chief Chris Keary said. Keary said the suspect was in a vehicle behind the victim’s and became upset that it was taking too long. The suspect exited his vehicle, displayed a knife and went after the victim aggressively before the suspect’s friends were able to stop him, a KU Public Safety report said. The suspect was later located, interviewed and arrested, the report said.

Injury accident

¢ Two Lawrence women were involved in a three-vehicle accident Monday on the Kansas Turnpike. The vehicles were slowing in the right lane to exit near the milepost 183 at 7:55 a.m. Monday when a 2007 Chevrolet driven by Jason Rothwell, 33, of Manhattan, struck the rear of a 2003 Mazda driven by Amber Reynolds, 32, of Lawrence, a KTA report said. Reynolds’ vehicle then pushed forward into a 2005 Honda driven by Melissa Wilson, 36, of Lawrence, the report said. Reynolds was treated at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center and released. No other injuries were reported.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A Toshiba laptop computer and PlayStation 2 were among $1,780 worth of items reported stolen by an 18-year-old Lawrence woman. The incident occurred between 5:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of Indian Avenue.
