A Fowler, Colo., man was hospitalized after he lost control of his tractor-trailer shortly after 6:30 a.m. Monday.

Rodney L. Hughes was driving west on U.S. Highway 24-59, north of Lawrence, in Jefferson County, when he went around a curve and lost control of the truck, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. The truck overturned on its side just east of where U.S. 59 turns north toward Oskaloosa.

A crane was taken to the accident site to help remove cargo from the truck, and traffic was rerouted.

Hughes was treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and released, according to an LMH spokeswoman.
