The trial continues for a Lawrence man charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in September 2006.
Jurors in Douglas County District Court spent much of Tuesday afternoon watching a video of police questioning Megan Halsey, the defendant's girlfriend at the time of the incident.
Joshua Walton, 25, Lawrence, is accused of killing 22-year-old Kansas University student Ryan Kanost at 13th and Kentucky streets, then fleeing the scene.
Halsey told police that Walton did not know what he had hit, and the damage to his car appeared too severe to have been caused by a person.
She was a witness for the defense, but attorneys agreed for her to be called out of order.
The state is expected to continue presenting its case when the trial resumes today.
