Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A woman called Lawrence police shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday after she found a man inside her residence in the 1500 block of Stratford Road. The man left the house without harming her. Police are looking for a white man in his 30s, last seen wearing a KU hat, blue jeans and a dark sweatshirt. He was driving an older model gold Ford Escort or Taurus-like car. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 843-TIPS.

¢ Lawrence Police Officer Bruce Elliott recovered a stolen vehicle and discovered other stolen items on Thursday. A 1999 gray Toyota Camry worth $3,500 was recovered in the 900 block of West 27th Street. Items reported stolen include $10 in cash, a bottle of Ritalin and a bottle of oxycodone.

¢ A Dell Inspiron 1501 computer laptop worth $1,000 was reported stolen Wednesday. A 23-year-old Lawrence woman reported that the burglary and theft occurred between 9:10 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Gateway Court.

¢ A 2001 Jeep Cherokee was reported stolen Wednesday and later recovered that same day. A 37-year-old Lawrence man reported that the theft occurred between 11:45 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday in the 4200 block of Briarwood Drive.

¢ A 24-year-old Lawrence woman reported a burglary of $6,480 worth of items. Goods reported stolen include two 14 karat white gold wedding rings with diamonds, a brown leather purse and a silver ring with a flower and blue stone diamonds. The theft reportedly occurred between 6:30 p.m. and 6:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 1800 block of East 23rd Street.
