Turns out Kansas University’s Hashinger Hall isn’t the only student housing with water problems.

Firefighters from Lawrence-Douglas County Fire and Medical responded this morning to a fire alarm at KU’s Delta Gamma sorority house, 1015 Emery Road, and water was coursing throug the house.

Quite a bit of water already had accumulated by the time the water was turned off. Firefighters were pulling bedding, mattresses and furniture out of the house late this morning.

The break was on the third floor and had leaked down to other floors.

A representative of the sorority was on the scene, but there was no estimate of damages immediately available.

It was a sink stop that broke and a plumbing company that turned off the water. Other then that it's accurate

We sorority girls took our Uggs home with us for winter break. I would be worried about printers, desks and TVs.

"Firefighters were pulling bedding, mattresses and furniture out of the house late this morning."Why is that their responsibility? I also read that the firefighters were squeeging (spelling?) water out of Hash as well. I find it strange that they should have to do that stuff, that should fall on the owners.

monkey, no joke, clean up is not a service emergency responders should provide. If they're going to be doing that, the firefighters might as well come by on a routine basis and make sure the sororities pipes are clean and in good condition.
