Law enforcement report
• A noninjury accident involving a semitrailer shut down a portion of U.S. Highway 40 two miles west of Lawrence on Thursday afternoon, a Kansas Highway Patrol dispatcher said.
By 3 p.m., the highway had been reopened.
Condition Updates
• Kansas University Hospital officials said that because of the hospital’s patient privacy policy, they could not provide a condition on Randall S. Warren, 55, Topeka, who was transferred there Tuesday after a pileup involving several vehicles on Interstate 70 west of the Lecompton interchange.
