A noninjury accident involving a semitrailer has shut down a portion of U.S. Highway 40 two miles west of Lawrence, a Kansas Highway Patrol dispatcher said.

At 1:20 p.m., the dispatcher said officers on the scene were providing traffic control and investigating the accident. No injuries had been reported.

As of 3 p.m., the road had been reopened.
