KU police investigating reported sexual battery from 2007
Police at Kansas University are investigating a sexual battery outside Jayhawker Towers, which was reported exactly one year after the alleged crime took place.
KU Public Safety Office Capt. Mark Witt said a female was sexually battered while being helped out of a car about 2 a.m. on Oct. 15, 2007. The crime, which police said happened in a parking lot on the east side of Jayhawker Towers, was reported to officers on Monday.
Witt said the suspect, who is an acquaintance of the victim, hasn’t yet been interviewed.
Police had no information about why the crime was reported exactly one year later.
