Law enforcement report

¢ The Reno Township Fire Department doused a field fire around 8 p.m. Friday. A field near 246th Street and Alexander Road in southern Leavenworth County caught fire after a hay baler and a bale of hay began flaming. The hay baler was declared a total loss; damages were estimated to be $10,000.

¢ A 33-year-old Lawrence resident accidentally shot himself in the lower torso Saturday night while putting a pistol in his waistband, Lawrence police said. The victim was taken by helicopter to a Kansas City-area hospital after receiving the gunshot wound about 7:15 p.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of East 25th Court, police said. His injuries were not life-threatening, a police report said.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 42-year-old McLouth man reported $5,217 of items missing from his residence Sunday. The incident happened overnight Saturday. The missing items included a gray Gateway MX3215 notebook computer and a yellow 2005 Honda TRX250TF four-wheeler.

¢ A 31-year-old Leavenworth man reported $13,650 of items stolen from a truck. A front window was broken, and thieves removed a DVD/CD stereo, amplifiers, subwoofers, speakers and two headrests with televisions.
