A 22-year-old Lawrence man allegedly punched an Overland Park man in the face early Sunday morning outside a downtown Lawrence bar, police said.

The 21-year-old victim was taken to the hospital after the incident, which began just before 1 a.m. Sunday, outside Quinton’s, 615 Mass., police spokeswoman Kim Murphree said. The victim refused medical treatment and left the hospital.

Police issued a notice to appear in municipal court to the suspect for misdemeanor battery.
