Law enforcement report

¢ The search continues for a De Soto man who fell into the Kansas River when his canoe capsized Saturday near Eudora.

Aaron Henrichs, a Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks officer, said Jefferson County and the parks department each had two boats to search the river for Shaun Shaw, 26, who went missing when he was canoeing with two friends.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and a sonar operator assisted in the search.

The search was extended to Kansas Highway 7 bridge.

Henrichs said the water stream doubled to 10,000 cubic feet per second after heavy rains Wednesday, which made the search more difficult. Debris in the water also made the search a challenge. The search will continue today.

¢ A 22-year-old Lawrence man reported tires on two vehicles were damaged in the 3600 block of West 10th Street on Tuesday. Tires on a 2000 Volkswagen Passat and a 2002 GMC Envoy were damaged. The estimated loss is $1,150.
