Hawks blank LHS baseball

? Lawrence High’s baseball team struggled to find its rhythm against Olathe East’s pitching and fell, 5-0, Thursday at the College Boulevard Activites Center.

The game was moved from Lawrence High because of a soggy field.

The Hawks’ Zach Gove shut down the Lions, who managed only three hits.

“He was tough for us, upward of 86 mph,” LHS coach Brad Stoll said. “We didn’t put enough pressure on him.”

Clint Pinnick hit two doubles to lead the Lions’ offense.

LHS (4-7) will play a doubleheader against Leavenworth today at Ice Field. First pitch is scheduled for 4:15 p.m.

“Everybody’s a little frustrated,” Stoll said, “but we’re just at the halfway point. We have a lot of baseball left to play.”
