Hill City man faces child rape charge

A 64-year-old Hill City man faces a child rape charge in Douglas County.

The man was transferred to the Douglas County Jail Wednesday on a probable cause warrant after he was charged April 11.

He made his first appearance in court Thursday. The man pleaded not guilty to one count of rape for having sexual intercourse with a child who was younger than 14. According to court records, the alleged incident occurred Nov. 21.

A judge appointed Craig Stancliffe as the defense attorney.

He is next scheduled to appear in court on May 1. The man’s bond was set at $50,000.
