Injury accidents

¢ A 51-year-old Lyndon woman was injured Saturday afternoon when she lost control of her motorcycle on U.S. Highway 40, 5 miles west of Lawrence near Lecompton. Patrina Potter was westbound when she veered off a curved part of the road. She was transferred to Kansas University Hospital with minor injuries. Her condition was not available Saturday night.

¢ A car traveling in the wrong direction on Interstate 70 injured a Lawrence woman early Saturday. Evelina Payne, 43, suffered multiple fractures when a car driving eastbound in the westbound lane struck her vehicle near Bonner Springs. She was transported to Providence Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., and is listed in stable condition. The driver of the other car, Darren P. Hamilton, 35, Shawnee, was taken into custody by Kansas Highway Patrol troopers for suspicion of driving under the influence and suspicion of driving while revoked.

¢ Lawrence police responded to a hit-and-run at Ninth and Massachusetts streets late Friday. One victim was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
