Emporia ? Lawrence High’s volleyball team placed fourth Saturday in the Emporia Invitational.

The Lions lost to Blue Valley West, 25-17, 25-17, defeated Maize, 25-20, 25-19, defeated Junction City, 25-14, 25-20, defeated Topeka Seaman, 26-24, 20-25, 25-23, lost to Washburn Rural, 25-12, 25-12, and lost to Emporia, 26-24, 25-8.

The Lions’ Lindsey Murray had 28 kills and 35 digs, Kate Melton had 21 kills and 33 digs, Tayler Tolefree had 26 kills and 26 blocks, Rachel Van Horn had 74 assists and 28 digs, Emily Bracciano had 67 digs, and Maddy Orth had 25 digs.

The Lions (12-19) will play at home on Tuesday.
