KU cracks AP, Coachs Poll, ranked 20th

Kansas University’s football team has cracked the Associated Press Top 25, ranking 20th after its 30-24 victory over Kansas State.

KU also slipped in to the 20th spot in the USA Today Coaches Poll with 390 points.

The Jayhawks received 336 points, rocketing into the Top 25 for the first time since Sept. 28, 1996, when they were ranked 20th based in part on their 1995 success.

Kansas joins four other Big 12 Conference teams in the poll. Oklahoma is ranked sixth, Missouri 11th and Texas 23rd. Texas A&M, Colorado, Texas Tech, Kansas State and Nebraska all received votes.

LSU is the unanimous No. 1, followed by California, Ohio State, Boston College and South Florida.

KU (5-0) plays host to Baylor on Saturday.
