Lawrence High defeated Shawnee Mission North, 2-1, in boys soccer Thursday at YSI. Spencer Scott scored for the Lions in the first half, and Reid Heptig scored the go-ahead goal late in the second half.

“Tonight was our third game in a row. I didn’t know how the boys were going to respond,” LHS coach Bill Kelly said. “I was very happy with how they played.

Lawrence High had dropped matches to Olathe Northwest and Shawnee Mission Northwest the previous two days.

The Lions (3-8-1) will play Tuesday at Leavenworth.
