Cancer society to host smokeout activities

The American Cancer Society’s Colleges Against Cancer program will host several activities today at Kansas University.

At Wescoe Beach, “cold turkey” sandwich coupons will be distributed to smokers who give up a pack of cigarettes.

For students who are nonsmokers, there will be a drawing for prizes. Students also can try “bowling over smoking and cancer,” with prizes for those who knock over all the pins and draw attention to the fight against cancer.
