‘Stop Day’ tour to look at campus highlights

A retired Kansas University professor on Friday will give his traditional “Stop Day” walking tour of campus.

Ted Johnson, professor emeritus of French and Italian, will lead the tour from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, which is the day between the last day of classes and the first day of final exams.

Johnson has led the tour each spring since 1992. Members of the public are invited, are encouraged to ask questions and participate in discussion, and may join or leave the tour at any point.

The tour begins at 9 a.m. at the Natural History Museum entrance, then moves to other points of interest, including Lippincott Hall, Twente Hall, Watson Library, Murphy Hall, Green Hall, the Chi Omega fountain and the Memorial Campanile.

Each stop has a theme for discussion. Themes include “Whoso Findeth Wisdom Findeth Life,” and “The Seven Liberal Arts and the Classical Tradition.”

An hour-by-hour agenda and a rain plan are available online at www.news.ku.edu.
