LHS soccer blanked

? The Lawrence High girls soccer team continued to have problems finding the net Thursday night, falling 7-0 to Olathe South in a Sunflower League contest at the Olathe District Activity Center.

The host Falcons scored their first goal mere seconds after the opening kickoff and had a 2-0 lead at halftime before breaking things open with a big second half against the Lions (3-6-2).

“They’re obviously very talented,” said LHS coach Matt Anderson, who, after seeing his club fall behind 3-0, made use of liberal substitutions to keep his starters fresh for tonight’s 7 p.m. home game against Olathe North at the Youth Sports Inc. complex.

“The girls are keeping their heads up. The effort’s never questioned,” Anderson added. “We’re so young, we have so many revolving pieces, we’re just having trouble putting that complete game together.”
