MCPHERSON ? Lawrence High’s girls soccer team blanked Andover Central, 5-0, on Tuesday in a first-round McPherson Tournament game.

Senior Abby Vestal scored four goals, and Madison Bertrand added one for LHS.

Megan Andrews had two assists. Emma Lumpe recorded the shutout in goal.

“I felt for the first game of the year, tactically we were solid. We displayed nice soccer IQ,” coach Matt Anderson said.

The Lions will meet a yet to be determined opponent at 8 p.m. Thursday in McPherson.
