Law enforcement report

¢ A 42-year-old Lawrence resident reported that a 59-year-old Lawrence woman threatened her between 6:30 p.m. March 15 and 9:20 a.m. March 20 in the 2500 block of West Sixth Street.

¢ A 19-year-old Lawrence man in the 2000 block of West Sixth Street reported receiving threatening phone calls by a man living in Connecticut between 8:18 p.m. Feb. 19 and 8:19 p.m. March 21.

¢ A 19-year-old Lawrence man who was arrested for outstanding warrants between 11:32 p.m. March 22 and 1:07 a.m. March 23 also was booked on possession of controlled substance charges when he left behind a bag of pills in the patrol car in which he was transported to jail.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A 28-year-old Lawrence woman reported that $3,200 worth of entertainment equipment was stolen from her home between 5 p.m. March 8 and 8 a.m. March 22 on the 400 block of North Street. Among the items stolen included a television, a DVD player and a VHS player, along with several DVDs and tapes. Damage also was done to the door of the residence, estimated to be $100.

Emergency calls

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical crews responded to a report of smoke coming from a third-floor apartment about 9:10 p.m. Friday at 519 Fireside Drive at the Boardwalk Apartments. A small cooking fire was put out by the residents, and fire crews arrived to ventilate the apartment of chemical powder left by the fire extinguisher. No injuries were reported.
