Burglaries and thefts reported
¢ Lawrence police investigated an alleged theft in the early-morning hours Monday in which a 30-year-old Lawrence man reported that $914 in currency was stolen from him. The incident occurred at 4700 W. Sixth St. He chose not to pursue charges against the suspect.
¢ Three people were arrested on suspicion of stealing about $287 worth of DVDs about 11:20 p.m. Thursday from Family Video, 1818 Mass.
¢ A theft of 200 DVDs and 40 video games was reported on Thursday in the 300 block of East 19th Street. Along with damage to the window of a residence, the total value of items stolen was $4,050.
Injury accidents
¢ A 33-year-old Lawrence man was treated and released from Lawrence Memorial Hospital after an accident in which a car he was riding in crashed into a tree.
Justin Largent was riding in a 1999 Audi A4 headed north in the 1000 block of Vermont when it veered off the road and collided with a tree.
Largent was taken to LMH; the driver did not appear to suffer major injuries and was not transported.
