An Ozawkie man died Tuesday night after his vehicle went off the road about five miles north of Perry, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

At 10:15 p.m., William George, 55, was driving his vehicle north of Ferguson Road when it left the road and went into the ditch, struck a culvert, flipped and stopped in a ditch, said Capt. Tim Byers, a sheriff’s spokesman.

George was ejected from the vehicle, and he later died. Sheriff’s officers are still investigating why the vehicle left the road, Byers said.
