Administrator receives 4 percent pay raise

Douglas County Administrator Craig Weinaug received a 4 percent compensation increase on Monday from county commissioners.

The increase goes into a deferred retirement fund, instead of being added to his regular salary. Commissioners said it was Weinaug’s choice to put the increase in the retirement fund. The fund, International City Management Association Retirement Fund, also is open to other public employees.

Weinaug’s annual salary is $117,041 and will not change.

Commissioners said they think Weinaug, who has been county administrator for 15 years, is doing a good job of guiding the county through implementation of rural development and subdivision regulations, as well as working with the county’s city administrators and managers.
