Charlotte, N.C. ? Any dad who has spent a hot summer day chasing around kids knows how Julian Wright felt Saturday: Those little guys wear you out.

Wright, a 6-foot-8 forward out of Kansas University, auditioned for the Charlotte Bobcats with guards Javaris Crittenton of Georgia Tech, Aaron Brooks of Oregon and Coby Karl of Boise State.

Predictably, Wright was out of his element, having to get lower on defense and stand farther from the basket than normal.

Bobcats officials understood that – Texas A&M point guard Acie Law originally was expected to audition Saturday, but pulled out of this workout. Wright could be in the mix for the Bobcats’ No. 8 overall pick, but he didn’t shoot particularly well and that jump shot has long been his weak spot.

Bobcats coach Sam Vincent said Saturday the Bobcats ideally would use the eighth pick on a big guy who can score. However, Saturday the Bobcats mostly looked at guards.
