Law enforcement report

¢ According to a Lawrence police report, a 22-year-old Wakarusa woman reported that she was the victim of an aggravated assault at 6 a.m. Saturday in the 3500 block of Clinton Parkway. The woman and a witness told police that someone attempted to use a vehicle as a weapon during the incident, but the woman was not injured, according to the report.

According to Douglas County Jail records, police arrested a 34-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man on a charge of aggravated assault. By Saturday evening, he was free on $5,000 bond. Additional information about the incident was not available Sunday.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ Two Kansas University students reported to Lawrence police that a 27-inch Westinghouse LCD television, valued at $1,100, and a black Apple iPod and its charger, valued at $360, were taken between 10:45 p.m. Friday and midnight Saturday from a residence in the 2600 block of West Sixth Street.

Injury accidents

¢ A man was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital by ambulance Sunday evening after his vehicle struck a utility pole on U.S. Highway 56 about two miles west of the Baldwin Junction, said Lt. Kari Wempe, a Douglas County Sheriff’s spokeswoman.

The man’s vehicle left the road and he lost control, Wempe said. The vehicle struck a fence post and the pole landed on top of the vehicle. Wires also caused a small grass fire near the vehicle. Medics with Lawrence Douglas County Fire & Medical were able to safely get him out of the vehicle, and the man’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Wempe said.
