County has two meetings today
Douglas County commissioners will meet at 3:30 p.m. today for a closed-door executive session to discuss a legal issue with the county counselor.
Commissioners will not meet at their usual 8:30 a.m. time.
A regular meeting will start at 4:10 p.m. Several items are on a consent agenda that can be approved without discussion. A commissioner can ask that an item be removed from the agenda if he wants to talk about it.
Commissioners will consider these agenda items:
¢ Acquisition of right of way for 2006-2012 N. 600 Road benefit district.
¢ Acquisition of right of way for three small culverts near East 1750 and 600 roads.
¢ Acquisition of right of way for a culvert on the Douglas-Johnson County line just north of North 800 and East 2400 roads.
¢ A resolution establishing a 35 mph speed limit on East 1100 Road from North 900 Road to North 1000 Road in Wakarusa Township.
¢ A resolution establishing a 30 mph speed limit on North 1000 Road from East 1100 Road to East 1200 Road in Wakarusa Township.
¢ A resolution establishing speed limits for East 1500 Road from North 800 Road to North 1000 Road, also called County Route 458.
Commissioners will then go to the Eldridge Hotel for a joint meeting with the Lawrence City Commission about economic development.
