The team of Gary Leonardi, Jerry Magnuson, Megan Menzel and John Zylstra combined to shoot 17-under-par 55 to win the fourth-annual Bill Self Lawrence Parks and Rec Youth Scholarship Golf Classic on Friday at Eagle Bend.

Placing second in the four-person scramble with a score of 56 was the team of Kent Beisner, Mark Buhler, Doug Stephens and Bill Struble. That squad beat the team of Bill Self, Kent Ferguson, Terry Keefer and Pat O’Toole in a tiebreaker.

The second flight title went to Bryce Hirschman, Ed Mullins, John Pepin and Barry Walthall. The squad finished with a score of 64.

In all, 100 golfers participated in the tournament, which supports scholarships for underprivileged children to take part in Parks and Rec youth programs.

“It was a great day overall,” said Lee Ice, chairman of the event.
