Bioscience researcher earns $45K fellowship
A KU researcher who works to understand diseases at the molecular level is one of 116 recipients of this year’s prestigious Alfred P. Sloan fellowship.
Wonpil Im, an assistant professor of molecular biosciences, is one of 12 molecular biologists nationwide to win the fellowship this year. The fellowship provides $45,000 for two years to be used for equipment and other costs directly related to research, with a possible two-year extension.
Im leads a group that studies protein interaction in biological membranes and develops tools used for computerized modeling of proteins.
