Wednesday night’s Douglas County Commission meeting was canceled after the only item on the agenda was pulled.

Commissioners were to consider allowing the city of Lawrence to annex 40 acres where a sewer pump station is to be built north of Folks Road along Interstate 70.

But the annexation request first must be approved by the Lawrence City Commission before the issue goes before county commissioners. The issue had not yet been given to the city for discussion, said Dan Warner, planner with the Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Department.
