Injury accidents

¢ A 30-year-old Lawrence woman was treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and released after a two-car wreck about 10 a.m. Sunday on West Second Street near Wisconsin Street. Danielle Session was traveling east in her 1999 Ford Windstar van when her vehicle was struck by a 1995 Dodge Intrepid traveling west that had moved left of center.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ Someone broke into a car parked in the 1400 block of East 24th Street overnight Tuesday and took a stereo, amplifier, speakers and 75 CDs, according to a Lawrence police report. The burglary and thefts were reported by a 19-year-old Lawrence man. Losses and damage to the car were listed at $2,025.

¢ A 23-year-old Lawrence man told police his car was burglarized May 23 or May 24 in the 1600 block of Tennessee Street. Taken were golf clubs and bags, a radar detector and other personal belongings totaling $4,720.

¢ The right fender of a car belonging to an 18-year-old Lawrence man was damaged shortly before 8 a.m. Monday, the man told Lawrence police. The car was parked in the 2300 block of East 27th Terrace. Damage was listed at $1,000.

¢ A 50-year-old Lawrence woman told Lawrence police someone had taken a financial card from her and made more than $2,300 in purchases. She reported the theft Monday.

¢ Cooking fire, 11:56 p.m. Wednesday, 506 W. Sixth St.

¢ Building fire, 2:13 a.m. Thursday, 536 Ohio.

Fire Calls

¢ Emergency crews evacuated residents early Thursday from a two-level apartment at 536 Ohio where heavy smoke was coming from a bottom apartment.

There was one occupant in each apartment; one woman suffered minor injuries to her hand from broken glass when she helped a dog escape the building.

Fire damage was contained to the bathroom of the bottom apartment, but smoke damage was evident on the lower level.

The fire was reported at 2:13 a.m. Thursday. The cause of the fire and damage estimates were unclear later Thursday.
