Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ A black Schwinn bicycle, valued at $1,000, was reported stolen from a 25-year-old Lawrence man. The incident occurred between 10 p.m. Friday and 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 4500 block of Overland Drive.

¢ A 48-year-old Lawrence man reported the theft of a white 1998 Ford Contour valued at $10,000. The crime occurred between 8 a.m. Monday and 11:22 p.m. Wednesday in the 2300 block of Ridge Court.

¢ A 37-year-old Lawrence woman reported criminal damage to Econo Lodge, 2222 W. Sixth St. Damaged items included a television, lamps and a nightstand. Total damages are valued at $1,085. The crime occurred between 5:30 a.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.

Injury accidents

¢ A 27-year-old Lawrence man was injured in a head-on collision Wednesday in Leavenworth County. Riley Chadwell, 27, was transported to Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., following a wreck at 6:44 p.m. at U.S. Highway 24-40 and Hemphill Road.

Chadwell was traveling south on U.S. 24-40 when his vehicle drifted into the northbound lane and struck another vehicle driven by Ashley Alloway, 20, of McLouth. She and two passengers were not injured severely.

Chadwell, who suffered a broken ankle, was transported by air ambulance to KU Hospital. Citing privacy laws, a hospital spokesman would not provide Chadwell’s condition.

¢ A 61-year-old Lawrence woman was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital following a two-vehicle wreck that occurred about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday at 13th and Connecticut streets.

Marian Hess was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Kelly Nelson, 43, of Eudora, when the car was truck by another vehicle. Nelson was driving south on Connecticut Street toward 13th Street when she observed another vehicle, driven by Reagon Heikes, 20, roll through the stop sign and strike her vehicle. Heikes was cited for failing to yield the right of way.

Hess, who complained of injuries to her lower back, left side and right knee, was transported to LMH, where she was treated and released.
