Injury accidents

¢ An 85-year-old Lawrence woman and a 16-year-old Lawrence girl were involved in an injury accident around 4:40 p.m. Friday.

The accident took place at Folks Road and Sixth Street when the 16-year-old, Alexandra Smith, attempted to make a left turn from westbound Sixth Street onto southbound Folks Road. As she was entering the intersection, Smith was hit head-on by Dorothy Kerns.

Both drivers were treated at the scene for cuts and bruises. Kerns was cited for entering the intersection while the light was red.
