Lawrence police and the Move Up community youth program in Kansas City, Mo., are searching for a Lawrence girl who has been missing since Monday.

Whitney Rae Thomas, 13, was last seen Monday morning at her home in the 1300 block of New Jersey Street, the family said.

Her grandmother, Linda Lash, filed a police report Thursday. Police have entered Thomas’ name into the National Crime Information Center database listing her as a runaway.

Lash said the family received word from classmates at Central Junior High School that she may be in the Kansas City area.
