County Commission Rezonings, permits among tonight’s business
Douglas County commissioners tonight will tackle a number of different issues during their meeting, including a private air strip and boat storage expansion requests.
Commissioners will:
¢ Consider a request to rezone 39.67 acres from agricultural to suburban residential. The property is located at 671 N. 1550 Road, owned by Bruce and Cynthia Byers.
¢ Consider a conditional-use permit for Fred’s Boat Storage for construction of a building to expand existing boat storage. The property, owned by George F. Roll, is at 568 N. 1800 Road.
¢ Consider a conditional-use permit for a light aircraft landing strip at 2142 N. 300 Road, submitted by Ray Vallejo for property owner Justin Johnson.
¢ Consider revisions to county zoning regulations to add self-storage to the list of conditional uses and to create standards for the development of this use in limited areas within the urban growth area.
¢ Consider a petition for a North 600 Road benefit district.
¢ Consider approval of an amendment to Horizon 2020 chapter 5 concerning residential land use.
¢ Consider approval of an overpass agreement with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad in conjunction with the Lecompton Kansas River bridge rehabilitation project.
Commissioners will meet at 6:35 p.m. on the second floor of the courthouse, 1100 Mass.
