Kansas City, Kan. ? A 19-year-old Tonganoxie man was taken Monday to Overland Park Regional Medical Center after being involved in an accident in Kansas City, Kan., Kansas Highway Patrol records show.

The man, Shawn M. Everhart, was driving east on State Avenue about noon Monday when he was struck by a truck driven by Robert L. Quick, of Kansas City, Kan., the report says. Everhart was in the right-hand lane of State Avenue while Quick was turning left onto 130th Street.

Everhart, who was driving a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire, was treated at the hospital and released.

A passenger in Everhart’s car, Lacey N. Sturgis of Leavenworth, wasn’t injured.

Quick was treated at the scene of the accident and released.
