Emergency service deal to be considered
An agreement that would put Eudora Emergency Medical Service under control of the city of Eudora will be discussed during Monday’s Douglas County Commission meeting.
The proposal calls for the Eudora fire chief to manage the service, which serves the city and Eudora Township. Currently Eudora EMS is its own entity but is under the guidance and support of Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical.
If commissioners give the go-ahead, a formal contract will be prepared for later approval.
Also on Monday’s agenda:
¢ A neighborhood revitalization plan that includes tax rebates for Eudora will be discussed.
¢ Commissioners will consider approval of the Seventh Judicial District Juvenile Justice Authority Prevention Intervention and Core Services funding application for 2008.
On the consent agenda, items which could be approved without discussion are a contract to house inmates at the Douglas County Jail for the cities of Baldwin City and Eudora and acceptance of bids for various signs, posts and miscellaneous materials by the public works department.
Commissioners meet at 8:30 a.m. on the second floor of the courthouse, 1100 Mass.
