Law enforcement report
¢ Lawrence police are investigating a report that a 52-year-old man allegedly was assaulted by his 30-year-old wife with a ball-point pen Wednesday at their home in the 2400 block of Louisiana Street.
Burglaries and thefts reported
¢ 1800 block of Indiana Street: Police are investigating the theft of a 1997 Toyota Camry XLE belonging to a 56-year-old Lawrence woman. The car was left running and unattended prior to the theft between 10 a.m. and midnight Wednesday.
Injury accidents
¢ A Tonganoxie woman was hospitalized after a wreck at 4:55 p.m. Thursday at 250th Street and Evans Road, approximately two miles west of Tonganoxie.
Amanda Searcy, a 33-year-old Tonganoxie woman, was driving a 2004 GMC Envoy south on 250th Street when the car failed to stop at a stop sign at Evans Road. The car hit a nearby fence and drove into a field.
She was taken to Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., with a possible injury. A 13-year-old passenger, Morgan Searcy, was uninjured. Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the wreck, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
